One of the biggest challenges of our generation is take back control from the monopolising institutions of banking and high finance. That is why we at GOtilo are huge advocates for blockchain technology, and for the transformative power of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

We want – no, need – social enterprise to be at the vanguard of this movement. And that’s why we’ve created this: a list of social enterprises in London that accept Bitcoin.

We will return to this list and update it periodically; in time we hope this will grow to be the definitive resource of its kind for crypto-savvy ethical explorers. If your community enterprise or non-profit venue is not on this version of the list, add it into the comments and we will put you right in there. We will also producing a range of BitCoin and blockchain related resources for ethical explorers in the coming weeks. The #cryptolondon campaign is here!

  1. No 1 cafe, Old Shoreditch Station, Jaguar Shoes C0llective
    1 Kingsland Rd, London E2 8AA

A GOtilo favourite this. Many is the afternoon you can find Adam and I in here, discussing some new ethical exploration find. The cafe bar and exhibition venue is in a decommissioned train station. Once part of the Great Eastern railway, this venue was the original Shoreditch Station.

It is part of the JaguarShoes Collective and sister venue to the iconic DreamBagsJaguarShoes. The Old Shoreditch Station focuses on coffee during the daytimes and on whiskeys, wines and specialty beers in the night-times.

As well as coffee there are design-led exhibits, pop-up shops, product launches, intimate gigs and has become a popular venue for private parties and exclusive events. There are numerous options available for functions, from full venue private hire, pop-up retail showcase or a simple area reservation.

A relatively short list so far – which in many ways shows just why the #cryptolondon campaign is needed. So, community and social enterprise venues, retailers and supporters: let’s get behind this idea. Share new additions to this list – or ways we can help spread the #cryptolondon word – in the comments.
